Overview

Contract Risk, Read In Minutes

Lexacon is an AI platform that reads construction contracts and flags the risks before anyone signs. Upload an NDA, a construction contract or a consultancy agreement, and it checks every key clause against the company’s own risk profile.

The founders bring decades of construction and legal experience. My team and I designed what they show customers and investors: the web app, the investor deck, the social launch and the website.

The Problem

The Challenge

Construction runs on contracts, but most firms can’t put a lawyer on every one. Four in ten contracts have ambiguous terms, and a manual review costs around £5,500.

The product had to make legal analysis readable for people who aren’t lawyers, and give them findings they could trust and act on, not a score from a black box.

Had to work for
  • Contract managers
  • SME owners
  • Consultants
Had to stay
  • Every risk tied to a clause
  • The client’s own rules
  • An expert one click away
What I Delivered

How I Helped

I led the design from the first wireframes to the finished product, then the deck that took it to investors and the campaign that took it to market.

Everything shares one teal, one mint and one plain way of talking, so Lexacon reads as the same calm expert in the app, the deck and the feed.

  • Web app, 30+ screens
  • Wireframes to hi-fi
  • Components and styles in Figma
  • 16-slide investor deck
  • 40+ social posts and carousels
  • Marketing website
The Product

AI Analysis, Plain Answers

Lexacon’s promise is that everyone can get high-quality contract risk analysis at a sensible price. Set your risk appetite once, upload a contract, and in about five minutes see what’s risky, why it matters and what to change.

Upload To Answer, Five Steps

A review asks for two real decisions: what you’ll accept, and what you’ll change. Lexacon does the reading in between, and shows its working at every step.

Process

From Wireframe To Product

We started in grey: what goes on each screen and in what order, before any colour. Once the structure was agreed, the same layouts became the finished product. Three of those screens, before and after.

DashboardWhere every review starts and ends
WireframeWireframe of the dashboard: contracts reviewed, time saved and a table of contracts
FinalFinal dashboard: contracts reviewed, 23 hours saved and the contracts table with status chips
  1. Two numbers lead: contracts reviewed and time saved.
  2. Status chips replace a text column: uploaded, completed, edited.
  3. Categories moved to the sidebar so the table stays wide.

  1. A product preview beside the form, so people see what they’re signing up for.
  2. Four fields and one button: Get started.
  3. The teal panel sets the brand from the first screen.

Design Decisions

Built To Be Trusted

People sign or walk away from deals on what Lexacon tells them. So every design decision came back to one question: would a contract manager trust this enough to act on it?

Decision 01

Show the working, not just a score

Every key risk opens as a card: the clause it came from, the position your profile requires, the risk assessment and what to change. Nobody has to take the AI’s word for it.

Total Contract Liability risk card with clause, position, risk assessment and risk analysis
Decision 02

Your rules come first

Before the first upload, a team sets its risk profile: liability caps as a share of contract value, and which risks count as key. Lexacon judges every contract by those rules, not a generic checklist.

Configure Construction Risk Profile with risk categories and caps
Decision 03

One review, two audiences

The internal analysis is written for your team. The external analysis is the version you send: clause, suggested action and amended wording, ready to copy or download for the other party.

Make five minutes feel short

We explored a progress bar and a progress ring for the wait. The ring won, with a plain line beside it: go and grab a coffee, we’ll be done before you get back.

Teal for trust, mint where you act

Lexacon Teal carries the brand, headings and the dark summary cards. Mint marks every button you press. Status colours only appear on risk: red for non-compliant, amber for uploaded, green for completed.

A Feed That Teaches

The launch campaign explains contract risk to construction teams one idea at a time: the five types of contracts, the clauses to watch, the costs of signing blind and how Lexacon works in five steps. Light, dark and mint posts, carousels and seasonal greetings, all on one grid.

A Website That Starts A Review

Lexacon had no site that showed the product. We designed one around the real screens: the promise, the problem in numbers, how it works in three steps, the product in tabs, security, the team and FAQ, with one button repeated all the way down: Review your first contract.
